COMMENTS FROM PAST CLINIC PARTICIPANTS
"Thank you so much for such an awesome clinic. I'm so excited, grateful and happy about what we got done ... I really admire what you can get done with every horse and rider ... and how many approaches you each have for each problem." ~SB
"Wow! The clinic was beyond fabulous!" ~DH
" ... I have always been fiercely competitive and although that can be a good source of "drive" to work hard and improve, it sometimes got in the way of me enjoying what I was doing - especially when things didn't go well.
Our conversation about why we ride and what our horses mean to us really helped me step back and realize that I was robbing myself of the blessings and joy that exist in riding when my only goal was to "win" and nothing short of that was acceptable.
... I have such a different approach to every ride now. I was able to experience TRUE JOY when I showed Zack for the first (and second) time last month because my focus wasn't on the win but on the ride!! And I was able to extend that to each piece of my pattern & cow work. When I looked at my score sheets; I celebrated the pluses and looked at the deductions as areas to focus on for improvement.
My attitude is so different and I am enjoying it all so much more.
THANK YOU to both of you Barbra Schulte and Sandy Collier for sharing your wisdom with us and helping us be truly confident cowgirls!!" ~PF
"Sandy and Barbara delivered an intense, interactive event with one’s horse. Their combined knowledge surpassed my expectations for the weekend and I am grateful for the knowledge they shared with us.
....... Each of them ensured every question was answered and issue addressed. They demonstrated several valuable, new techniques to enhance our riding skills and performance.
High on the list of enjoyment was the camaraderie we all shared towards our common objective to make improvements where possible and move forward with confidence. As it turns out, so many of us encounter the same joys, fears, doubts, and competitive spirit towards our goals to achieve.
The initial presentation Barbara guided us through on Friday set the stage for open forum among the participants. There, techniques were explained to honestly self-evaluate one’s attitude, reduce stress and mentally prepare for a positive, successful ride.
Both Sandy and Barbara transmit a casual, “no problem; let’s do it again” approach to horse training. It removed so much of the mental chaos so many of us struggle with. " ~JI
"You are both are tremendous clinicians. The knowledge and techniques you presented at the clinic just added countless 'layers' to my learning curve. I can't thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to experience so much enjoyment and extraordinary wisdom." ~BC

The clinic at Hamilton was wonderful and I understand now that the mental skills and scripting are a process and you dont learn overnight, but I was able to actualize some even this first show. We still have a ways to go, but the scores were consistent and competitive .......
I used the whoa back and tight circle backing up appropriately during my warm up and "Blast" did not dance in the center in anticipation before either of the 3 classes! That alone is huge. Not sure if it was because I wasn't shaking as usual or because of the "training trick" but after the fact, I can say, it feels really really good...
My words have not expressed the depth of my appreciation for you and for Barb - you two have taken what was rare pessimism and turned it into hope!! Thanks!" ~SH
"I want to share an experience at my first show after the clinic that demonstrates my improvement with riding/showing. I used Sandy's baseball diamond/steering exercise during my warm-up, did Barb's mental preparation and herdwork. We made good cuts. I could think about the flow of the herd and stayed in good position. As I rode out my first thought was - the clinic really helped me! Spending 3 days working and mentally practicing skills at the clinic singnificantly improved my riding." ~AP
"I just want to say how much I enjoyed this clinic. I left with such great new information that trickles over into all I do. You two are a dynamic duo of teaching and encouragement." ~MU
